The big scam around “La Moskitia”
From time to time a group of people appear in the buffer zone of the Indio-Maíz Reserve claiming to be representatives of the Kingdom of the Moskitia Nation.
They come to strengthen a network of allies, expanding their actions based on historical elements that they distort and use for their purposes.
According to this group, Nicaragua will be divided, dismembering the two Autonomous Regions and Río San Juan as an independent nation, which will become an independent “kingdom”.
To this end, they have structured a network of operators, many of them are land traders who already operated in the Indio-Maíz Reserve.
Despite the unrealistic arguments championed by these people, the movement has grown and has now positioned itself as one of the main promoters of the invasion.
Much of the strength of this group lies in the complicity they find in public institutions that, even knowing the fraud that is being committed, do not act to prevent it, not even when this group, based on what they call their own laws, began to charge council taxes. According to public officials there is no order from above to touch them.
